Our most current project involves the creation of a catalog of interactive, multimedia, on-line course modules that are internationally relevant boiler-code compliance training for the operation and maintenance of Attended, Liimited-Attendance and Unattended Packaged Boilers. The content is generic and focussed on industry-wide basic training needs. The core learning material from the highly successful CD-ROM titles has been extended and updated and the on-line courses are an appropriate entry-level resource for operators in non-complex plants or for trainee operators in larger utility installations. Each title has one or more comprehensive learning sections with embedded practice assessments that provide students with dynamic feedback. A separate, standalone assessment module containing a bank of randomized, scored questions is used for formal competency assessment. An embedded report generator provides a complete transcript of the assessment session and may be printed to provide evidence of competency.

The on-line courses are media-rich and require a broadband Internet connection. A graphics pre-loader is included for those on slow or mediocre connections. The courses are compatible with all of the commonly used web browsers including Google Chrome (version 4), IE6, IE8, Firefox, Safari and Ipad 2.
